For your consideration, you are viewing a WW2 Vintage piece of Swiss military history. This is a Swiss M1918 Knife Bayonet, Scabbard, and Frog. This was designated "Dolchbajonett Mod. 1918" (Dagger Bayonet Model 1918), and these are for use on the 7.5 mm. Schmidt-Rubin M1911 carbine and M1931 Short Rifle (K31). The Swiss M1918 Bayonet is the original issue bayonet for the Swiss Armed Forces that was included with each K31 rifle from 1933 until 1958. Manufactured by Elsener Schwyz which is now the famous Victorinox that manufactures Swiss Army Knives, the M1918 bayonet was manufactured from 1918 into WW2 and finished production in 1933. Victorinox initially produced the M1918 bayonet until the early 1920s. Victorinox was located in Schwyz Canton and many of these weapons were used in both WWI and WWII. As it is with all other Swiss bayonets, this is exceptional quality, extremely well made and finished and it is efficient, both as a bayonet or when used in its own right as a survival knife. These legendary bayonets feature an 11¾" blade, with stainless steel pommel. The blade is stamped on the tang with a serialized number on the guard This bayonet has a bright polished bird head pommel, with two-piece retained wooden scales that have release catch to the rear left of the pommel. The Cross guard has a 14mm muzzle ring to the top half and the lower part has been struck with a Swiss Cross to the front. It has a high-quality bright polished finished steel 29.5 cm / 11½ inch blade with a raised medial rib that lacks a fuller that terminates in a spear point. Complete with an original rolled Steel Sheet Deep blue scabbard with a raised belt bar and finishes with a ball finial tip, complete with genuine era leather hide frog. # The makers and inspection marks are:- RICASSO: "Elsener Schwyz Victoria"
- CROSSGUARD: "994262" Underneath "Swiss Cross and Circle"
- LEATHER FROG: "Swiss cross over RK" over "K.KUSTER" over "ROGGWIL" over "76"
