For your consideration, you are viewing an exotic Antique Embossed Brass Empty Gun-Powder Flask for filling a Musket Rifle from the Old World. It has no makers’ marks but I believe that this was made in Morocco in the late 19th Century, This is a beautiful piece of ethnic metal art, the brass front has also been beautifully embossed with a melon or jelly mould shape that has been embellished with raised metal designs in the centre and has 2 dangling chains with ball finials. This design is featured only on one side, the rear of the flask is nearly flat with only a slight rounding and has been made of metal, The brass spout has a copper lid that is attached to a chain secured to rings on both sides of the flask. These were commonly used by the wealthier Moroccan Arabic People to store black powder for use with their early musket flintlock guns and pistols. This powder flask was once a trusty companion to a flintlock-wielding Arab and is a unique antique collectable accessory from an age steeped in gunpowder, blunderbusses and huge swords. This would make an excellent addition for powder flask collectors and would make a great man cave decoration or gift CONDITION: This is a large-size antique brass powder flask from the late 19th Century, used, and in good condition for its age and use in warfare. This has lots of light surface scuff and marks consistent with its age and use, the brass has an aged patina, all the metal parts also have an aged patina, and the chains are still strong and are firmly attached, the central ornate feature and the ornate chain and ball are firmly fixed, the spout is undamaged without any dents, the copper banded lid is also undamaged # Please note: The Photographs form part of the description; Super-sized photos can show the finer details and conditions.- Photos do not show the actual size so please read the description page for the exact measurements.
