For your consideration, you are viewing an empty Vintage Russian SKS Kirza Ammunition Ammo Pouch, (no clips are included) This WWII-style ammo pouch was made for carrying 40 rounds = four 10-round stripper clips (no clips are included) of 7.62x39 Ammunition for the Simonov SKS semi-automatic rifle and they are made in brown “Kirza” Kirza was a type of hardwearing waterproof rubberised vinyl with a pebble finish which was popular in Cold War Russian equipment, this has a front leather closure strap with a single brass stud, and 2 khaki webbing straps attached to the back, and they date to the late sixties/early seventies. This is the perfect hard-to-find accessory to add to your Cold War/Vietnam Display collection. #SKS Simonova: These Russian-manufactured ammunition pouches were the standard type issued to all Soviet military personnel armed with an SKS Simonova rifle, literally. "Self-loading carbine of the Simonov system" which is a semi-automatic rifle designed by Soviet designer Sergei Gavrilovich Simonov in 1945. The SKS's distinguishing characteristics were a permanently attached folding bayonet and a hinged, fixed magazine. However the SKS lacked select-fire capability because its magazine only held ten rounds, it was rendered obsolete by the introduction of the AK-47 in the 1950s, however, the use of the SKS continued as the SKS was exported in huge quantities and gained popularity with insurgent forces around the world, serving its purpose as a light, convenient weapon despite its conventional limitations. Beginning in 1988, millions have been sold via the civilian market to North America, where they have become the preferred rifle for hunting and sporting. #This has no makers and or inspection marks. CONDITION: This ammo pouch is Vintage from the late-60s era, used, and in good condition for its age and use in warfare. The pouch is complete with all straps and studs, and there are no tears, stains or damage to the vinyl fabric, The leather strap is supple with an aged patina and is firmly attached, the khaki webbing belt loops are without damage and all the stitching and studs are firmly attached, showing only light wear, but it does have a musty smell from being kept in storage.  # Please note: The Photographs form part of the description; Super-sized photos can show the finer details and conditions.
