For your consideration, you are viewing an Antique piece of Spanish Military History, this is a Spanish M1913 Bayonet complete with a rare matching number Leather Scabbard, these were adopted in 1913 as the Bayoneta Modelo 1913, and this bayonet replaced the M1893 bayonet. With the introduction of the 7 mm M1916 Short Rifle in 1916, the M1913 bayonet was, instead, designated for use with this M1916 Rifle and subsequently also designated for use with the 8 mm M1943 Short Rifle. The M1913 bayonet was one of the rare bayonet types that utilized checkered wood grips. The scabbard is stitched leather with a steel mount locket and drag. This example was made at Artilleria Fábrica Nacional, Toledo, Spain. This retains the Toledo crest, which is rare as so many of them have been polished off as was frequently done on military surplus bayonets. # The makers and inspection marks are:

• RICASSO: Ricasso (Left): Ground off Toledo mark  - (Right) "49523"
• SCABBARD: "49523"

CONDITION: This bayonet is vintage WWI, used, and in good condition for its age and uses in warfare. The checkered wood grips are in very good condition, with light scuff and wear marks consistent with use and fit tightly to the tang, the release/lock button is in working order. The 39.3 cm blade has a polished finish with an overall scattered stain and an aged grey patina, with some very light pitting on the rounded spine at the knife end. The edge is not sharp and has no dings. The remaining metal on the cross-guards, pommel and mortise has a polished finish with some wear and grey patination. The scabbard leather is supple and the stitching is intact, it has some scuff. The metal mounts have no dents but have some marks and fit tightly together with the bayonet. # Please note that the photographs form part of the description; Super-sized photos are available for you to view in the eBay gallery, to show up the finer details and conditions.
